Tack Truck

Surface Preparation Technologies (SPT), LLC is seeking an experienced Tack Truck/Utility Operator. The Driver's primary responsibility is to efficiently operate an asphalt distributor and maintain an acceptable level of workmanship to support our rumbles strip crews at various job sites.

SPT is the industry leader in rumble strip equipment and installation. All of SPT's equipment is proprietary and built/designed in house, with exception to the Tack Truck, they are built by Etnyre.

**MUST HAVE A CLASS A or B COMMERCIAL DRIVER'S LICENSE WITH TANKER ENDORSEMENT**

DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITES:

• Operate equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all company safety policies as well as equipment procedures and requirements.
• Drive and operate tack truck equipped with tank to spray emulsions on road surfaces.
• Regulate burner to heat liquid and start auxiliary pump.
• Turn valves to regulate flow of material at specific rates and adjust levers in order to adjust the height from the road surface.
• Must monitor flow, tachometer and temperature gauges to ensure uniform distribution.
• Responsible for performing daily safety checks and maintaining equipment is in proper and safe working order while reporting any repair needs to the supervisor.
• Must understand and be able to execute the different emulsions.
• Work long flexible hours as demanded by our customers including nights, weekends, and work outside for extended periods during all seasons of the year.
• Perform additional duties as required or directed by their immediate supervisor or other manager.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a minimum of 21 years old
• Valid Commercial Driver's License - Class A or B Driver's license with tank endorsement

• Clean Driving Record
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and a background check
• An emphasis on safety on and off the road
• Knowledge of DOT standards and requirements
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip making sure the truck is in safe conditions
• Maintains telephone contact with the dispatch and or foreman for instructions
• Maintains truck logs as required by the State, Federal, and Company policies and regulations
• Maintains the cleanliness and serviceability of assigned truck
• Ability to drive a manual transmission
• Ability to load tack truck
• Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area and emulsion distribution rates.
• Ability to perform basic math using some algebra to confirm distribution rates are achieved
• Physical ability to operate distributor and to perform manual labor as needed, such as shoveling, sweeping or other construction zone related duties under extreme temperatures and for extended hours of time.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

• Stand and sit for prolonged amounts of time
• Must be able to drive up to 11 hours a day
• Walk, bend, kneel, twist and climb
• Travel away from home for extended periods of time
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.25 to start

Experience:

• Truck Driving: 1 year (Preferred)

License:

• CDL A or B (Required)
• Tanker endorsement (Required)

Required travel:

• 75% (Preferred)
