Job Role:

The Concrete Carpenter is responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at a construction site and ensure surfaces are finished to look good and remain structurally sound. The duties and responsibilities are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient construction site while also helping to develop the skills of others within the crew. This position will report to the concrete foreman and be a key component in the success of the concrete division within RP Constructors.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Measure and mark cutting lines on materials, using ruler, pencil, chalk, and marking gauge.
  • Shape or cut materials to precise measurements and assemble boards, timber, or plywood to the necessary size.
  • Read blueprints, sketches, or plans to prepare project layout and determine dimensions, shape, design, and materials required.
  • Remove damaged or defective parts or sections of wooden structures and repair or replace, using hand tools.
  • Construct concrete wall forms and set forms per elevations provided on engineering drawings.
  • Use of plate compactor for proper subsurface compaction prior to new concrete placement.
  • Pours, smooths, and levels concrete using a rake, trowel, float, and screed, including the use of handheld and/or power tools.
  • Monitors the effects of the weather on the curing process.
  • Cleans and inspects surfaces for pouring issues.
  • Applies sealing and hardening components.
  • Adheres to the company’s safety policies to create a safe work environment.

  • Dependable and strong work ethic.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum two years of experience working as a concrete laborer or finisher (Required)
  • Must be able to work long, flexible hours including weekends.
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the job: lift 50 pounds, standing for long periods of time.
  • Willingness to travel to different locations and work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Have a valid driver license (Preferred)
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certified (Preferred)
  • American Concrete Institution certified (Preferred)
