JOB SUMMARY

The Corporate Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing financial information of Philpott Solutions Group Inc. (Philpott) and its subsidiaries. This role involves financial reporting, account reconciliations, journal entries, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of accounting principles and proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Financial Reporting:

   - Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements.

   - Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.

   - Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.

 

  • Internal Controls:

   - Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.

   - Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.

   - Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

 

  • Journal Entries:

   - Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately.

   - Review and verify journal entries for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

   - Maintain detailed and organized records of all journal entries.

 

  • Account Reconciliations:

   - Perform regular account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.

   - Identify discrepancies and work with relevant departments to resolve them.

   - Maintain detailed documentation of reconciliation processes and outcomes.

 

  • Financial Analysis:

   - Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost reduction.

   - Provide insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.

   - Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as needed.

 

  • Collaboration:

   - Work closely with other departments, such as manufacturing, supply chain, and sales, to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control.

   - Support cross-functional initiatives and projects.

 

  • System Management:

   - Utilize ERP system to manage financial transactions and records.

   - Continuously improve accounting processes and systems for efficiency and accuracy.

 

PROFICIENCIES

  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and ERP systems. Experience with Infor’s Syteline/Cloud Suite Industrial ERP is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.


MINIMUM EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.


EXPERIENCE

 0-3 years of accounting experience.


WORKING CONDITIONS

Office environment with occasional visits to the production floor. May require some travel between company sites.
