Job Summary:

 

The Scientist, Analytical Chemistry will be responsible for designing, conducting, and interpreting complex chemical analyses and experiments to support the R&D and manufacturing teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in analytical chemistry techniques and instrumentation, along with a strong background in data analysis and problem-solving. This role is critical to ensuring the quality and efficacy of our processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and validate new or existing analytical methods.
  • Utilize advanced analytical techniques such as ICP-OES, FAAS, IC, GC-MS, and potentially LC-MS.
  • Analyze and interpret complex data.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D and Manufacturing.
  • Strong safety mindset
  • Up to 10% travel a year

 

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Masters (with a minimum of 3 years industry experience) or PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in the use of analytical instrumentation and software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to scientific rigor and integrity.
  • Strong work ethic
  • Significant experience in metals analysis using inductively-coupled plasma (ICP) instrumentation and/or flame-atomic absorption spectroscopy (FAAS)

 

Additional Qualifications:

 

  • Some experience with logic-based coding and basic automation (Excel, Google Sheets, Google Apps Script, Python, etc.).
  • Strong background in chromatography (particularly ion chromatography).
