Summary of Position: The Human Resources Generalist is directly responsible for providing assistance in the areas of employment, recruitment, policies and procedures, compensation, benefits, labor relations and training.

Education and Experience:

  1. Associates degree in business or human resources.
  2. Minimum of one year of experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  3. Minimum of two years experience in Human Resources preferred.

Special Skills and Requirements:

  1. Shall have a valid driver’s license.
  2. Excellent customer service skills.
  3. Detail oriented with excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
  4. Ability to follow instructions.
  5. Ability to work independently without supervision.
  6. Travel to other sites as needed. Travel may be in inclement weather.
  7. Ability to lift 25 lbs. of supplies or equipment.
  8. Requires various amounts of sitting, standing, twisting, turning, bending, lifting and walking.

Responsibilities of Position:

  1. Perform routine tasks to administer and coordinate human resource programs including but not limited to:
    • Compensation and Benefits
    • Leave of Absences
    • Hiring and Onboarding
    • Recruitment
    • Separation of Employment
    • Payroll and Compensation
  2. Process payroll and ensure data transmitted to payroll system accurately reflects the recorded data and submit for timely payroll processing. Follow up on payroll inaccuracies and make corrections accordingly. Track and analyze payroll data. Run payroll reports for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  3. Maintain Human Resources files in shared drive. Maintain personnel policies in Human Resources shared drive and employee portal.
  4. Maintain open communications with Human Resources Manager and Chief Human Resources Officer regarding important information and/or concerns.
  5. Oversee the recognition program including employee appreciation, birthdays/ anniversaries, flower/gifts for life changing events, and agency celebrations.
  6. Coordinate and maintain employee appreciation and engagement in conjunction with the Human Resources Manager and Chief Human Resources Officer.
  7. Maintain monthly benefit enrollments, terminations, and invoice reconciliation.
  8. Assist with annual open enrollment.
  9. Complete New Hire Onboarding by scheduling background checks, drug screens/ physicals, new hire paperwork and arrangements for start date.
  10. Coordinate and complete scheduling, monitoring, and execution of onboarding for new hires.
  11. Process employee terminations when an employee leaves the Agency and make sure all equipment and supplies are returned.
  12. Maintain records, documentation, and licensing are on file. Ensure compliance and confidentiality with organization information while adhering to all federal, state, and local regulations.
  13. Manage and maintain personnel files to ensure they follow states and federal laws and meet accreditation requirements.
  14. Perform recruitment tasks such as post open positions, track applications/interviews, and other recruitment activities. Attend job fairs and other community workforce events when needed.
  15. Implement and engage in employee recognition, engagement, and retention programs in collaboration with the Human Resources Manager and Chief Human Resources Officer. Bring forth ideas and strategies for employee recognition, engagement, and retention.
  16. Assist with the employee and volunteer orientation.
  17. Coordinate Human Resources projects as assigned.
  18. Understand and follow all aspects of Human Resources policies, procedures, and practices. Serve as backup to the Human Resources Manager as needed.
  19. Communicate successfully with peers, supervisors, public, and staff members in a manner that represents EverHeart’s mission and vision.
  20. Setup and coordinate meetings and phone conferences as requested.
  21. Direct incoming Human Resources calls and faxed messages appropriately and perform general clerical duties to include but limited to utilization of Microsoft Office products, photo copying, faxing, mailing, and filing.
  22. Miscellaneous QAPI and Education department tasks. (i.e. Data collection, educational training/events, orientation schedules, OFIR tracking, etc.)
  23. Other duties as assigned.
