NFC is looking to expand its project management department with the addition of an APM in our DFW Region.  Here at NFC our dedicated staff of APM'S are the heartbeat of our Pre-Con Department, as they are responsible for the coordination, organization and communication of project starts. 

 

A primary function as an APM is to oversee the project material & logistic budgets while playing a vital role in collaboration with field supervisors.  While in the role of APM you will learn invaluable skills preparing you for a potential future role in the PM or Operations Departments.  NFC prides itself on employee growth and promotion from within.

APM Position Functions: 

 

Overview: APM's assist and support the Project Manager during the full life cycle or a project from design, bidding, proposals, pricing, ordering materials and sending close-out documents.

Key functions include:

 

  • Vendor management
  • Coordination of material deliveries
  • Create/Maintain POs
  • Customer Service to NFC PM’s, GC/Customers
  • Audit project costs

 

 

Requirements:

 

  • Education/Experience:
    • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree OR Equivalent experience in the Construction Industry
    • 2+ years-experience in the Construction Industry may be substituted for the above requirements at the sole discretion of the Senior Project Manager.
    • Required: A minimum 2-3 years’ experience in the Construction Industry.
    • Preferred: 1-2 years’ experience in the Multi-Family Interiors Construction

 

  • Certifications: Valid Texas Driver’s License

  • Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
    • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
    • Ability to read/interpret blueprints and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
    • Ability to convert units of measure to provide accurate pricing inquires.
    • Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel, word, and Outlook.
    • Is able to calculate figures and amounts such as square footage, yardage estimates, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
    • Ability to write routine reports and professional correspondence.

    • Analytical – collects and researches data; uses intuition and experience to accurately use this data.
    • Problem Solving – Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully; develops alternative solutions; work well in group problem-solving situations using reasoning even when dealing with emotional topics.
    • Communication – Expresses ideas and thoughts verbally and in writing and exhibits good listening and comprehension. Must be able to speak, write, and comprehend in English.
