Apprentice Plumber: Full-Time

MAC Mechanical Company is looking for two full-time Apprentice Plumbers. Previous experience is not required, we will teach you everything you need to know Apprentice Plumbers start at $16/hour and receive increases regularly on a progressive wage schedule. MAC Mechanical, based in Little Rock, Arkansas, started as McElderry Plumbing in 2006 with one man and one truck. As our business grew, exclusively through referrals from our customers, we added more trucks and more technicians and expanded our services. Today, we provide high-quality, residential and commercial plumbing and heating and air services throughout the central Arkansas area, as well as providing mechanical contracting services. What It's Like Working For MAC Mechanical

As an apprentice plumber, you will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks that support our highly skilled technical team. You will be responsible for maintaining safe work environments and organizing jobsites under the supervision of a journeyman or master plumber. Over time, and as your knowledge and skill grow, you will be given more responsibilities like running pipes and performing installations. Highly organized and motivated, you continually work on your own professional development and find ways to improve your process. You love interacting with new people every day, find the challenge engaging, and look forward to advancing as an employee Through our meticulous training, you will learn how to be one of the top-tier tradespersons in the state. What You Need To Be Qualified for This Job

  • Valid Arkansas Driver's License
  • A reliable smartphone that can send/receive calls and texts and download apps.
  • Ability to push, pull or lift 50lbs.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
  • Average hearing and vision in both ears and eyes.
  • Ability to work in extreme temperatures and in all weather conditions.
  • Acquire your own hand and battery-powered tools within the first year of the job.
  • Have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to show up for work on time and responsible for completing job duties.

Work Schedule

This position is a full-time position, with standard workdays of Monday-Friday. Nights and weekends are occasionally required. Once an apprentice reaches a certain level of apprenticeship, call will be required. Start time is 7:30 and we finish when the jobs are done (usually between 3:30-5:30). Apprentices are also required to enroll in an approved apprenticeship program. Apprentices are required to complete 8000 hours of on-the-job training and 432 hours of related instruction to earn a journeyperson plumbing license. MAC Mechanical pays tuition
