Comptroller/Cashier

The following is an outline of duties for a Comptroller/Cashier.

Essential Functions

· Performs duties of bank cashier and maintains portfolio/general ledger by ensuring all entries are made properly and pledging is current; ensuring GL accounts are opened or closed properly and interfaces are working properly.

· Identifies problems and gives instructions on cleanup with all F & M offices by communicating through written memos and instructions at operations meetings.

· Reviews and maintains internal controls by reviewing reports to ensure F & M Banks are following proper procedures and policies.

· Produces monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports and the quarterly call report.

· Complies with Bank operations and procedures, including the Bank Secrecy Act.

· Follows attendance policies in compliance with the employer handbook.

· Performs job of bank accountant keeping general ledger entries of Holding Company on Quickbooks.

· Maintains customer confidence and protects Bank operations by keeping information confidential.

· Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending various seminars.

· Contributes to team effort through sound leadership, helping others, setting a positive example, supporting bank policy, procedures, and management decisions, and maintaining positive customer relationships.

· Perform the duties of Accountant by developing the semi-annual Bank Holding Company reports for the Federal Reserve; assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly Farmers & Merchants bank reports for internal distribution and for the Federal Reserve, and performing special projects as requested by bank management.
