As the President / COO, you will be responsible for overseeing and leading a Federal Construction company to achieve financial success and operational excellence. This role requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in construction, exceptional leadership skills, and the ability to manage diverse teams. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining client and subcontractor relationships, ensuring a positive company image, and steering the organization in alignment with the Vision Traction Organizer (VTO), part of the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS). This individual is responsible for oversight of all company operations including construction, project management, safety, and quality control.

Our client is a 25M Federal Construction company based in Cleveland, OH. This can be a 100% remote position with regular travel to job sites. Being local to Cleveland, OH would be ideal but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Management:
    1. Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet to ensure the financial health of the organization.
    2. Implement cost reduction strategies without compromising quality and safety standards.
  2. Operational Oversight:
    1. Oversee day-to-day operations, sales, and finance functions to optimize efficiency and productivity.
    2. Foster collaboration and harmony between different departments to achieve company goals.
  3. Relationship and Stakeholder Management:
    1. Cultivate and strengthen relationships with subcontractors and clients to enhance collaboration and project success.
    2. Foster strong connections, evaluate and make strategic decisions related to the engagement or disengagement of subcontractors and clients, aligning decisions with company values and strategic objectives.
    3. Maintain a strong relationship with the bonding agent to ensure adequate financial support for projects.
  4. Human Resources:
    1. Oversee recruiting and separation processes, ensuring the recruitment of skilled professionals who align with the company's values.
    2. Manage company's accountability program to ensure the fulfillment of individual and team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
    3. Foster a positive company culture and employee satisfaction.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within the construction industry. Government / Federal Construction experience preferred but will consider commercial construction background.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, methodologies, and project management.
    • Ability to analyze construction drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
    • Tend to field issues, providing strategic solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Strategic thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency in output.
    • Includes strong customer service skills including customer needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction assessment to aid our quest for RAVING FAN clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a related industry degree preferred, but not required.
  • Project Management experience in the construction field; experience in government construction preferred.
