Job Title:Assistant Director of Engineering

Salary:$70k to $80k plus 10% annual bonus and $5k in relocation allowance

Job Description:The Assistant Director of Engineering is responsible for overseeing the physical building structure, all mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems, and related equipment to ensure compliance with energy conservation and preventative maintenance programs. In this role, they must ensure that all systems operate to regulatory standards, property assets are maintained to the highest level, and legally mandated safety operating systems/criteria are followed by all. The Assistant Director of Engineering must manage budgets, capital expenditure projects, preventative maintenance, and energy conservation efforts, while also training, mentoring, and developing the engineering team. They will be responsible for scheduling employees, directing, and coordinating all engineering activities to ensure efficient management of engineering/hotel operations. The Assistant Director of Engineering will report to the Facilities Director and advise when specialist intervention is required. Their success in this role will require excellent leadership skills, a deep understanding of engineering best practices and operational standards, as well as exceptional budgeting and project management skills. Overall, the Assistant Director of Engineering will play a critical role in ensuring that all systems and equipment are maintained to the highest level, and that the engineering team is trained, mentored, and motivated to deliver exceptional results. Their dedication to managing budgets, capital expenditure projects, and energy conservation efforts will be integral to the success of our business.

Qualifications:

The Assistant Director of Engineering must have a minimum 5 years experience at a Maintenance Manager level or facilities engineer in a Hospitality related environment.

Vocational certificate or diploma in electronics or technical studies, or degree in hotel maintenanceis a requirement for the Assistant Director of Engineering

Extensive knowledge of plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC, refrigeration, and safety operating systemsis requiredfor the Assistant Director of Engineering

The Assistant Director of Engineering should be fluent in English and preferably another language.
