Position Overview
General mechanic primarily responsible for managing tires throughout race events. Tire management includes but is not limited to, ordering tires, collecting pertinent data, sorting sets, cataloging sets in a proprietary database, setting air pressures, and recording pressure builds, wears and temperature. Additional responsibilities include wheel maintenance and general mechanical assignments as assigned by manager. This is a full-time traveling position in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize common gauges, set and record air pressure, check tire temperature, and measures tire wear
- Analyzes data and provides information for evaluation to the Crew Chief/Car Chief
- Enters data into proprietary database
- Organizes tires into sets (rights and lefts) at the track
- Orders race and test tires, as well as maintaining inventory of unused race tires for the team
- Reviews and signs off on sets of tires purchased at the track
- Organizes track equipment and replenishment
- Service and cleaning track equipment
- Other duties as assigned by Manager including general mechanic duties
Shop Responsibilities
- Maintain and restock toolbox weekly
- Perform mechanical checklist on race car weekly
- Assist Car Chief in scaling process
- Assist in car preparation weekly
- Perform quality control on wheels
- Maintain the team’s wheel inventory
- Enter wheel inventory usage (Serial Numbers, specific Track Usage and Mileage) into the vehicle component part tracking database
Required Skills, Experience and Abilities
To perform the job successfully, you should demonstrate the following competencies:
- 2+ years of racing experience
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required
- Basic computer skills
- Some Mechanical experience preferred
- Ability to assess and react to situations in a fast-paced stressful environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Skills to work independently, and operate well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Ability to identify and propose solutions to complex issues
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to drive execution and results
