Material Handler
The Material Handler position is responsible for the proper flow of material from the warehouse to the production floor, within the production floor and from production to shipping. Completes all functions within the framework of Metallic’s policies and procedures and in compliance of applicable regulations.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are the core responsibilities included but not limited to the Material Handler position:
- Analyzing pick sheets based on clients' orders and pulling the appropriate products for each order.
- Package orders securely and label them properly.
- Wrap pallets.
- Load trucks.
- Unload containers/trucks.
- Secure all material against water damage, breakage, and theft.
- Maintain order by placing materials in proper locations.
- Maintain cleanliness by keeping aisles clear to avoid accidents and to prevent damage.
- Knowledge and ability to operate all necessary equipment safely.
- Knowledge and ability to utilize the computer system and RF guns to its full capacity.
- Ability to independently problem solve.
- Monitor inventory levels and suggest new orders when needed.
- Follow all relevant safety regulations.
- All other duties, as assigned.
- Able to maintain a clean and orderly warehouse by sweeping floors and dusting shelves.
- Able to perform detailed work with speed and accuracy.
- Able to organize and prioritize a diverse and heavy workload.
- Communicates effectively, both orally (in person and using a telephone) and in writing.
- Possess organization, time management and mathematical skills.
- Dependable and reliable. Attendance is an essential function of this position.
- Ability to follow company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and workplace ethic.
- Inventory, equipment maintenance, data entry and computer skills may be required.
- Dexterity and attention to detail.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
- Employee must be able to stand, climb, bend, crouch, push/pull, lift for extended periods of time and have use of arms and hands.
- Ability to lift loads of 50lbs or more throughout the work shift.
- Ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail in a moderately noisy environment.
- Candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment drug screening.
