Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Applying Quality Program Requirements:
- Responsible for applying the requirements of the Quality Program to the analyses they perform.
- Quality Control Management:
- Evaluate QC data and initiate corrective action for quality control deficiencies within their control.
- Implement corrective actions as directed by superiors.
- Competitive pay range of $20-$22 per hour,
Duties:
- Laboratory Operations:
- Prepare test solutions and reagents for laboratory personnel to conduct tests.
- Analyze organic and inorganic compounds to determine chemical and physical properties, composition, structure, relationships, and reactions, utilizing chromatography, spectroscopy, and spectrophotometry techniques by following the respective SOP.
- Compile and analyze test information to determine process or equipment operating efficiency and to diagnose malfunctions.
- Direct, coordinate, and advise personnel in test procedures for analyzing components and physical properties of materials.
- Technical Operations:
- Develop, improve, and customize products, equipment, formulas, processes, and analytical methods.
- Data Management:
- Use computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) to enter data or process information.
- Enter, transcribe, record, store, or maintain information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
- Reporting:
- Report to the Department Supervisor.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Problem Solving:
- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Communication:
- Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.
- Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
- Quality Control:
- Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
- Time Management:
- Managing one's own time and the time of others.
- Analytical Thinking:
- Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Equipment Management:
- Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Obtaining and seeing to the appropriate use of equipment, facilities, and materials needed to do certain work.
- Performing routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Problem Sensitivity:
- The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong (It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem).
- Scientific Knowledge:
- Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.
- Knowledge of the uses of chemicals and their interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods.
- Analysts are initially qualified by education with a minimum of a BS degree in Chemistry, Physical and/or Biological Sciences.
