FP&A Financial Analyst


The successful candidate will be responsible for providing timely analysis of industry and market activities as well as other financial duties and analytic support to the finance team. This is a key position within Ionic Digital finance. 


Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions) 

Work closely with the Controller on: 

  • Financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, revenue analysis, dashboard reporting, and other ad hoc planning and analysis.
  • Coordinate and analyze economic, industry and peer information for trend and comparison analysis. 
  • Prepare financial models through benchmarking and process analysis.
  • Prepare insights and trends of current financial status. Effectively analyze and report variances of actual results to budget and forecast on forecasting metrics. 
  • Prepare deep-dive analysis of financials and revenue / cost statistics and projections, undertake balance sheet analysis to know the future modeling requirements. 
  • In conjunction with operations, prepare quarterly and annual costs and revenue forecasts projecting profits, cash flow, and other metrics. Prepare comprehensive forecast reports, create estimates of future performance and trends. 
  • Leverage and action information / metrics required during financial forecasting. Evaluate both the current and future state business processes to identify areas of opportunity for improvement / automation around forecasting workflow. 
  • Drives continuous improvement in all processes including reporting, planning and forecasting. 


Education/Experience/Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting or related field. 
  • 7+ years finance/accounting experience including 3 years FP&A
  • Relevant certification (e.g. CFA/CPA) is a plus 
  • Must have expert proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook 
  • Willingness to work independently within in a team environment and assist the team with other duties as required 
  • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning systems (ERP) 
  • Integrity, honesty, trustworthy and ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Demonstrate a hands-on, collaborative approach and work well in a team
  • Advanced analytical skills with a high attention to detail 
  • Be action oriented and driven for results 
  • Demonstrate strong, oral/written communication and listening skills
  • Highest standards of accuracy, precision and highly organized 
  • Ability to deliver on time and under tight deadlines
