Job DescriptionJob DescriptionProvide exceptional drinking & dining experience to customers. Prepare & serve drinks and food while maintaining high quality formal table service to over 100+ customers daily, a clean and sanitary bar area & friendly demeanor to over 100+ customers daily. Accepting payment from customers and balancing cash receipts to record sales.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently provide prompt service, manage cash and payments and maintain customer satisfaction.

  • Develop a strong knowledge of the food menu, specials and upsell additional products & sections

  • Record drink orders accurately and immediately after receipt into the register system.

  • Prepare & serve non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks according to S2 standards and replenish drinks as needed.

  • Verifying the identification and age of customers for alcoholic beverages

  • Assess customer needs and preferences to make appropriate beverage and food recommendations & deliver exceptional experience

  • Deliver food and beverage orders from bar guests, enter orders in our Toast point-of-sale system.

  • Greet guests & build regular bar clientele. Learns and uses frequent bar guests names.

  • Maintain clean bar areas including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas.

  • Prepare the final bill, present a check, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change

  • Report all equipment problems, bar maintenance issues & out of stock items to the restaurant manager.

  • Act as server on the floor as required

  • Adhere to our responsible service of alcohol guidelines.

  • Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies.

  • Ensure proper portion control by adhering to the established free pouring technique.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years experience in mixology, bartending & food service in a fast paced restaurant/bar environment

  • Valid Illinois Food Handlers & Illinois Basset certification

  • Possess basic math skills and the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system (preferably Toast)

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.

  • Have working knowledge of beer, wine, liquor and common drink recipes.

  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (from 4 to 8 hours).

  • Effective customer service & problem solving skills

  • Flexible schedule; morning and evening availability

  • Be a team player
