Position services 2 offices- Palmetto Bay and Homestead

The Ultrasound Technician works with patients and providers and operates machinery equipment that uses high-frequency soundwaves to record images and scans of the body's internal organs. They ensure images submitted to the radiologist are optimal for reading. Perform Echocardiograms, Vascular and General Ultrasounds

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare the exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations. 
  • Recognize and record the appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment. 
  • Care properly for sonography equipment and report equipment failure to medical center administrator.  
  • Complete tech report based on the scan results and completion. 
  • Alert appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that require immediate attention. 
  • Daily equipment and supplies check to ensure equipment runs properly and inventory is ordered as needed. 
  • Perform provider ordered tests on patients and advises the provider of positive results.
  • Process, print, and fill the logbook for the billing department.  
  • Keep records for test images on the disc as required.
  • Explain procedures to the patients. 
  • Clean and maintain the room orderly.  
  • Fill out the forms of diagnostic results. 
  • Conduct all activities in a polite, courteous, and professional manner. 
  • Abide by company policies, procedures, and HIPPA regulations. 
  • Verify patient insurance eligibility and report any policy cancelations or erroneous PCP assignations to the patient center manager. 
  • Obtain referral authorization for all plan types and schedule diagnostic, specialist, and surgical procedures with or without transportation. 
  • Confirm, schedule, and reschedule appointments as needed. 
  • Assist patients and providers in connecting remotely to facilitate Telehealth Services. 
  • Train patients and other team members on Telehealth Services used at the center and patient's place of residence. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Education / Licenses

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required. 
  • Successful completion of diagnostic medical sonography program.
  • ARDMS certification required.
  • Must have a clean driving record and active driver's license and proof of car insurance required. 
  • Ability and flexibility with work schedule and location, including weekends as needed. 
  • Ability and flexibility to conduct medical assistant duties as ordered by PCP at the center and patient's place of residence. 
  • Demonstrate the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment. 
  • Able to follow all safety and universal precautions. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.  
  • Work independently or with minimal supervision and as part of a team.  
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.
