Groundspeople with Tree Experience

AKA is looking to hire skilled and safety-conscious Groundspersons with a valid drivers license to join our team. The Tree Groundsperson will be responsible for assisting the tree climbers in the removal of trees, trimming of branches, hauling brush and wood from the tree to the truck, using ropes, various hand and power tools, cleaning the job site and general maintenance of trees and shrubs. This candidate must have experience in tree care and a strong commitment to safety. A groundsperson must be able to follow instructions and have good communication skills. They must be able to climb ladders and be able to perform strenuous physical labor under all types of conditions. If this sounds like you - apply today

Responsibilities:

• Assist tree climbers in the removal of trees and trimming of branches
• Operate and maintain equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders
• Perform general maintenance of trees and shrubs, including pruning and fertilizing
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Experience in tree care or related field (Required)
• Ability to operate a chainsaw to cut brush, logs and stumps of larger trees (Required)
• Ability to drag, gather, and feed brush into wood chipper (Required)
• Strong commitment to safety
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation (Required)
• CDL (Preferred)

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to possibly climb trees and work at heights
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods of time
• Ability to work in various weather conditions

Job Type: Full-time

Starting pay: $17 (dependent on experience)
