A finish carpenter/ cabinet installer is a skilled tradesperson who specializes in the intricate and detailed work involved in finishing the interior of a building. Their main focus is on the final touches that make a construction project aesthetically pleasing and functional. ARI Designs is looking for someone with experience in installing custom cabinets, and completing the finish carpentry that makes a home stand out. ARI Designs takes pride in high quality work, from floor to ceiling. This position can range from part time to full time hours. Some of the typical tasks and responsibilities of a finish carpenter include:

  1. Installing and finishing trim work such as baseboards, crown molding, window and door casings, chair rails, and wainscoting.
  2. Installing cabinetry, shelves, and other built-in furniture.
  3. Hanging doors, including fitting them to frames and installing hardware.
  4. Installing and finishing staircases, handrails, and balusters.
  5. Installing and finishing flooring such as hardwood, laminate, or tile.
  6. Repairing or replacing damaged woodwork.
  7. Working with a variety of materials, tools, and techniques to achieve high-quality finishes.
  8. Reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and installation requirements.
  9. Measuring and marking the placement of cabinets, ensuring proper alignment and level installation.
  10. Assembling and installing cabinets, including attaching hardware, hinges, handles, and other accessories.
  11. Making any necessary modifications to cabinets to ensure a perfect fit in the designated space.
  12. Installing countertops, backsplashes, and other associated components.
  13. Ensuring that cabinets are securely anchored to walls and floors to prevent tipping or shifting.
  14. Applying finishing touches such as caulk, trim, and touch-up paint to complete the installation.
  15. Inspecting the final installation to confirm that it meets quality standards and customer expectations.
  16. Cabinet installers must have a good understanding of woodworking techniques, cabinetry construction, and installation methods. They should also have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Effective communication skills are essential for collaborating with clients, designers, and other construction professionals to ensure that the installation meets the desired specifications and aesthetic requirements.

Finish carpenters need to have a keen eye for detail, good hand-eye coordination, and a strong understanding of different woodworking techniques. They often work closely with other construction professionals, such as architects, designers, and general contractors, to ensure that the final product meets the desired specifications and aesthetic standards.

Available shifts and compensation: We have available shifts all days of the week. Compensation is $35.00 - $55.00/hour.
