Summary Description

Under supervision of the Controller, the Senior Accountant will maintain the integrity of the General Ledger, Fixed Asset, Equipment, and Job Cost systems while providing support to each facet of the Accounting Team.


Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:


  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M safety policies and procedures.
  • Complies with and ensures compliance with all Tri-M employment policies and procedures including standards of conduct and appearance to reflect positively on the Company.
  • Prepare and post regular and recurring General Ledger Journal Entries, as needed.
  • Assists Controller with general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assists Controller with the month-end accounting close and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Assists Controller with various Projects.
  • Completes Pre- and Post- Close Reconciliation of Billing Accounts to ensure billings have been posted to the correct Business Unit.
  • Maintains Fixed Asset Additions and Disposals monthly.
  • Ensures compliance with ASC 842 Lease Accounting.
  • Maintains Equipment Control system.
  • Completes Fleet analysis and reporting, as needed.
  • Completes Delaware Gross Receipts filings monthly.
  • Prepares Wawa Fuel Reports monthly.
  • Completes IFTA fuel reporting quarterly.
  • Completes reconciliation and upload of payroll tax data to ADP on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Completes reconciliation and upload of Keystone Earned Income Tax monthly.
  • Completes reconciliation and upload of Keystone Local Services Tax quarterly.
  • Completes City of Wilmington head tax filings monthly.
  • Assists with distribution of monthly financial statements.
  • Assists with audit compliance and support.
  • Ensures jobs are set up with standard phase codes, estimated hours, and estimated cost.
  • Assists with audits and analysis of various Tri-M projects.
  • Maintains the integrity of the WIP’s and other job cost reports.
  • Assist with daily deposits, maintenance of Expense reimbursement software, distribution of E-Z Pass, fuel, and credit cards, as needed.
  • Prepares special reporting as requested from Management.


Job Qualifications 

Skills/Educational Requirements:


  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in general Accounting, construction industry a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and contribute positively in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of construction applications.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems, knowledge of Trimble Viewpoint Spectrum a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.


Physical Requirements:


  • Working 40 hours/week, scheduled in 8-to-10-hour shifts.
  • Vision adequate for daily and consistent computer use and reading.
  • Sitting 6 to 8 hours/day.
  • Lifting weights of 0 to 30 lbs. from floor to above shoulders.
  • Repetitive use of hands for writing, typing, data entry.
  • Hearing adequate for phone use.
