Job DescriptionJob DescriptionThis position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Legacy Programs Manager is responsible for the facilitation of the Fellowship and Masters Program in Van, TX. This position recruits and hires for the program and identifies key areas for growth and development.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide direction and supervision for direct reports; provide professional growth and development through discipleship; develop and communicate goals and objectives; monitor, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback and direction to direct reports; conduct ongoing performance evaluation.
  • Support and demonstrate the Mission and Vision of the Sky Ranch ministry.
  • Instill the Sky Ranch culture, values, (Who We A.R.E.), and the WOW Factor within each Fellow.
  • Ensure proper delivery of the Fellowship Program curriculum for all participants.
  • Design, facilitate, and maintain a comprehensive recruiting strategy for both the Fellowship and Masters Program in all locations. Adjust for continuous improvement as needed.
  • Meet regularly with the Legacy Programs team and be a strong contributor to the program.
  • Develop and maintain a cross-functional plan among departments for staff training, scheduling, and performance feedback.
  • Plan and implement program-specific events that align with Fellowship core Pillars.
  • Maintain and monitor Legacy Programs staff housing.
  • Review and approve all employee PTO requests in accordance with company policy and calendar availability.
  • Create and execute plans for community groups, family groups and assigned mentors.
  • Plan and execute staff professional development and trips throughout the year.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Sky Ranch camp and ministry directors to understand their needs for summer positions.
  • Assign Summer roles among all sites, as needed.
  • Provide ongoing support and check-ins for program participants while in their summer roles.
  • Ensure camp is ready to receive incoming program participants by ordering necessary uniforms, revising welcome packets, preparing the staff training schedule, and working with Human Resources to maintain and/or revise program Field Guides.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform cost analysis and periodic management and operational reports.
  • Maintain compliance with Sky Ranchs employee policies and procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY
  • Management of the departments annual budget, including all related expenses.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION
  • Four-year college degree required.

EXPERIENCE
  • Two years of experience within Sky Ranch or in the camping ministry.
  • Previous Sky Ranch Fellowship and/or Masters Program participation would be highly beneficial.

KNOWLEDGE
  • Principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • In-depth understanding in the field of camping industry and fellowships/internships/discipleship programs.
  • Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams.
  • Basic internet and social media skills.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to effectively manage staff in areas such as: selection, development, coaching, motivation, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Proven successful leadership experience and ability to build unity amongst a team and motivate them to work together toward a common mission.
  • Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to guests (youth and families), clergy and staff of various Christian churches and organizations of all sizes, cultural identities and worship styles, co-workers, and peers.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills. Ability to plan, manage, and report budgets proficiently. Exceptional financial management skills.
  • Ability to provide strategic and logistical planning and facilitate meetings, conferences, workshops, and/or retreats as required.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to teach adult learners and to provide wisdom and Biblical counsel that is rooted in scripture as needed.

EXTERNAL CONTACTS
  • Candidates and prospective candidates for the Fellowship and Masters Program; DBU faculty; guest speakers and/or teachers; business vendors or partners in providing goods and services to support the program.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Physical effort required on a routine basis; ability to use up to 50 pounds of force frequently and 50 pounds of force occasionally for moving, lifting, and carrying objects.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry, or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Works indoors in normal office environment about half of the time and outdoors the other time exposed to the seasonal weather elements of specific camp location.

OTHER
Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. Must be able to fully support Sky Ranchs Doctrinal Statement. An active membership in a church whose spiritual beliefs are aligned with Sky Ranchs Doctrinal Statement.

Must demonstrate annually a clear background check and review of child safety practices as required for camp accreditation by the American Camping Association.
