Position Summary

This part-time position is responsible to provide aquatic operational support to the Woodstock Recreation Department. This position is responsible for planning, supervising, and preparing all aquatic oriented programs and special events offered by the Department; including swim lessons, lap swim, Lifeguard certification, and Community First Aid/CPR certification.

Schedule

As a part-time position, the position will work no more than an average of 28 hours per week. The schedule is noted below:

  • May - September (20 weeks @ 40 hours per week):
    • Core hours are Monday - Friday: 11:00am - 4:00pm with the balance of 20 hours per week dependent upon the needs for weekend/evening training and special event coverages.
  • Remaining Months in the year (32 weeks @ 20-28 hours per week):
    • Flex schedule to accommodate program needs at the indoor pool(s) at the Rec center(s.)

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma/equivalent with a minimum of three (3) years previous aquatic management experience.
  • 21 years of age and older.
  • Certifications: American Red Cross Lifeguard; Lifeguard Instructor; Water Safety Instructor (WSI), or ability to obtain within 6-month probationary period.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO) or Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or ability to obtain within 6-month probationary period.
  • Previous experience with recreation-based software.

Salary & Benefits

The pay rate is $26.45 per hour and includes an IMRF pension, choice of two (2) optional employee paid vision insurance plans, and 30 hours of personal time each January 1st - prorated based on start date.
