Shift

  • 2-2-3 Schedule (5:45pm-6:00am)
  • Shift Premium $1.50
  • Schedule Premium $1.00

COMPETENCIES: (i.e., to be defined in terms of required education, training, skills, and/or experience)

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong communication skills
  • Willingness to work with others as a team
  • Forklift Certification
  • Ability to use and understand precision measurement instruments
  • Ability to understand and follow safety practices and work instructions

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (i.e., functions, authorities, tasks, etc.)

  • Check Shop orders to compile load of same recipe, Check allow, and temper/ load weight.
  • Load furnace car with coils per work instructions using forklift
  • Check shop order for heat temperatures (make sure if coils are stacked and they are chained)
  • Set work temperature
  • Set air temperature for 50&degree;C higher than work temperature
  • Install thermal couplers into coils
  • Push load into furnace and seal door
  • Wire load to panel
  • Start furnace per work instructions
  • Monitor load temps and document when soak temp is obtained.
  • Once soak is complete shut down furnace and pull load.
  • Move coils from coil car to cooling area fans using forklift.
  • Complete all paperwork/reporting
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership.
  • Comply with the Company's quality management system requirements
  • Willingness to cross train
  • Advocate for continuous improvement projects
  • Fill in at the rolling Mill as required to cover absences
