Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob purposeThe Psychiatrist will assess clients and when necessary treat by prescribing medications to ensure the behavioral health needs of those enrolled in the program are served. The psychiatrist filling this position will feel comfortable treating both adults and children.Duties and responsibilities- Complete a medical and psychiatric assessment with initial diagnostic formulation explaining medical necessity for the service meeting agency standards
- Screen for needed medical, psychological, neurological assessments, as well as other specialized evaluations
- Educate clients on effects of medication and procedure to take in the event of an adverse reaction
- Provide medication services
- Complete required documentation in a timely manner
- Collaborate with agency staff and external providers to ensure effective continuity of care
- Accept limited call in the event of an urgent/emergent client matter
- Collaborate with up to three psychiatric nurse practitioners.
- Complete other duties as required by the position and/or as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer
- Education - Minimum of a Doctorate degree
- Skills/Abilities- Effective oral and written communication
- Board eligible or certified in Psychiatry. Subspecialties strongly encouraged to apply.
- Active and unrestricted MO license to practice medicine.
- Excellent clinical knowledge and communication skills.
- A willingness to learn new or streamlined EMR tools.
- A proactive approach with a strong work ethic and desire to participate in a collaborative environment.
- A commitment to high-quality, cost-effective health care.
- Practicing Psychiatrists and/or residents and fellows who are in or about to start their final year of training are encouraged to apply
