Job Summary:
DT Professional Services is seeking a Secretary II that will support onsite at NAVSEA, in Port Hueneme, CA This administrative professional will require an Active Secret Clearance and skills to perform clerical and secretarial duties requiring knowledge of office routine and an understanding of the organization, programs, and procedures related to the U.S. Navy.
As with any position, additional expectations exist. Some of these are, but are not limited to, adhering to normal working hours, meeting deadlines, following company policies as outlined by the Employee Handbook, communicating regularly with assigned supervisor(s), and staying focused on the assigned tasks including company meetings, and completing other tasks as assigned.
Responsibilities:
- Ability to interface with all levels of the command staff, departments, divisions and others to ensure that responses to action items, data calls, information, or problem resolution are properly acted upon.
- Consistency of office operations by independently responding to many of the routine inquiries or ensuring that members of the staff provide support in response to technical tasks.
- Handle differing situations, problems, and deviations in the work of the office according to the supervisor's general instructions, priorities, duties, policies, and program goals.
- Additional duties may include screening incoming correspondence; personally responding to requests for information concerning office procedures; determines which requests should be handled by the supervisor, appropriate staff member or other offices; make arrangements for conferences and meetings and assembles established background materials, as directed.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
- An active DoD issued Active Secret Clearance
- 2+ years experience with Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- 2+ years experience operating various office equipment: copiers, fax machines, typewriter, scanner, and telephone answering systems
- 2+ years of administrative experience
- AA degree in Business Administration preferred
- 5+ years experience working in DoD or government environment
- 5+ years experience with DoD terminology, correspondence, and filing standards
- 5+ years experience utilizing the Department of Defense (DoD) Defense Travel System (DTS)
