AR Specialist/Invoice Processing

  • Manage the accounts receivable function (e.g., customer database maintenance, cash application, payment discrepancy resolution, and customer complaints and correspondence, etc.)
  • Oversee the payment collections process of outstanding invoices
  • Determine collections benchmarks to ensure organization cash-flow optimization
  • Monitor accounts receivable portfolio for trends and warning signs; make recommendations and implement actions necessary to maintain and improve department metrics including aged accounts
  • Control bad debt exposure and expenses through direct management of credit terms of new and current customer accounts
  • Collaborate with owner to ensure timely collections and weekly reviews of past due accounts
  • Monitor and manage HII’s own credit worthiness (e.g., Dun & Bradstreet); make updates to corporate information, dispute slow pays, and submit trade references
  • Create and maintain company credit and collection policy together with desktop procedures
  • Complete month-end reconciliation of all A/R accounts

Requirements*

  • 2+ years QuickBooks’s Desktop experience
  • 2+ years in handling accounts receivable, collections, and assessing and evaluating credit of increasing responsibility
  • 2+ years lead or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of commercial credit and collection laws a plus but not required
  • Experience in enforcing a credit and collection policy that is integrated in the sales process
  • Experience in meeting short deadlines and driving projects to completion with minimal supervision in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment
  • Strong collection and negotiation skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong account reconciliation skills given accounts receivable and collections data that will require quantitative evaluation
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive financial information

This is currently a full time seasonal position, but could become a full time position permanent position if candidate is able to prove a need for a full time permanent position is necessary.
