Mission Statement

JDG’s mission is to enable students to achieve academic, career, personal, and social success.


Position Summary

The Student Outreach Coordinator provides case management of designated DOL/DOE to JDG students. Case management may include career counseling, job search assistance, placement verification, and records maintenance. The Student Outreach Coordinator works closely with classroom teachers and may assist with selected classroom activities and Department of Labor and Department of Education contractual enrollment paperwork.


This position reports to the Contract Supervisor.


This position is full-time working 12 months per year and is classified as exempt.


Major Responsibilities

  • Provide case management for designated students
  • Work closely with the CORE Coordinators to identify internship opportunities
  • Provide follow-up contact, placement counseling and job search assistance to designated graduated JDG students
  • Works with Goodwill to assist with student internship on-boarding paperwork
  • Monitor the Individual Service Strategy (ISS) for assigned JDG students and make appropriate updates/changes in the JagForce system
  • Verify designated graduates’ placements as required by JDG’s follow-up schedule
  • Maintain follow-up and case management data reports
  • Work closely with teachers when designated students need additional counseling and/or placement assistance
  • Assist with obtaining and preparing placement/retention documentation
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned
Requirements:

Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Services, Psychology, Business or other related fields of study
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with various computer applications
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Ability to organize and manage complex duties
  • Ability to prepare and maintain accurate records
  • Previous experience working with at-risk youth
  • Acceptable results from Federal and State criminal background checks
  • Acceptable results from a tuberculosis (TB) test
  • Acceptable results from JDG’s drug screening
  • Acceptable results from Delaware’s Child Protection Registry
  • Acceptable results from the National Sex Offender Registry
