Service Writer

Service Writer Opportunity:

Power Products Systems is the distributor for Detroit Diesel engines, Allison Transmissions, Carrier Transport Refrigeration, Volvo Penta and Kohler Power Generation Product. Power Products is part of a large successful family of 1200 employees with 47 locations throughout the United Sates and one branch in Mexico. We have all the resources of a large company with a small family-run organization feel. We are a true family first organization with employee and customer centric focus. We have an immediate opening for a service writer to handle customer service needs in our service department.

Job Duties:

• Greet customers as they enter the service department.
• Assist customers with checking equipment in for service and preventative maintenance.
• Verifying equipment's current warranty status with assistance from the warranty department.
• Answer incoming road service calls and help dispatch service technicians.
• Initiates work orders in the computer by gathering important details regarding the customer and the equipment being serviced, including warranty and/or billing information, and developing the customer complaint to aid in diagnosis.
• Completes work orders by accurately documenting all work performed, then processes customer payments in any of the acceptable forms, assuring that credit and warranty policies are followed.
• Builds and maintains customer relationships.
• Makes outbound calls to potential and existing customers to provide updates on repairs.
• Works with outside sales representatives to fill customer needs, keep customer commitments and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.

Work Experience & Qualifications:

• 3+ Years' experience as a service writer preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Computer and software skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
