This position will challenge you to bring your best video production and motion graphic skills to bear. To be successful, you’ll need to find the proper balance between artistic storytelling and appealing to a broad audience. Success is measured by a combination of output, quality, reach and engagement. The most important measurement will be delivering informative videos to an audience that consumes, likes and shares them.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate on video products related to and independent of news reporting.

You may also be asked to create fresh motion graphics that enhance the storytelling aspect of our videos.

You’re a good fit if you:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, film, or a related field of study, and/or relevant experience.

  • Have at least five years of strong motion graphics/video production experience.

  • Thrive working closely with a team to deliver a project on time and under budget.

  • Find yourself analyzing camera tech, shot composition, sound and lighting techniques, and storytelling devices and the filing ideas away in your mind for future reference/replication.

  • Can produce work that is interesting and fresh, up-to-date and timeless, seeing trends in design and creative marketing.

You’re an even better fit if you:

  • Grew up reading newspapers and news weeklies and now pay out-of-pocket for one or more print or digital news subscriptions.

  • Can demonstrate that videos you’ve produced have amassed millions of views online.

  • Have your finger on the pulse of current and future trends in design, graphics and marketing art styles.

  • Have any video production experience including camera, lighting or sound.
