Infection Preventionist

Summary:

The Infection Preventionist monitors and collaborates to establish and maintain the infection prevention and control system (IPCS), which is designed to provide a safe and sanitary environment and to help prevent the development and transmission of communicable diseases and infections. Performs system-wide surveillance and data collection. Investigate incidences of infection and collaborate on corrective actions. Works with the infection prevention and control committee to establish infection prevention and control standards and educates staff in processes to prevent patient harm from infection. Collaborates and reports to state and county organizations in reportable conditions and outbreaks.

What you'll need:

  • Certification/ Licensing/Registration: Current WA State RN license preferred or Masters in Public Health
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or other healthcare-related field preferred (non-RN applicants require MPH or higher)
  • Master's degree in nursing or other related field preferred
  • Two or more years experience in clinical nursing or public health preferred
  • Infection Prevention, Public Health, or related experience preferred
  • Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology preferred, eligibility to complete the certification over time required.

Schedule:

This is a full-time (1.0) exempt position. This position is hybrid with some work-from-home flexibility.

This position will remain open until filled.
