Position Overview: Lucy School is seeking a responsible and reliable Part-Time Bus Driver to safely transport our students to and from school, as well as to occasional field trips and school events. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and ensuring their safety.

This position may grow to a full-time position and there may be other opportunities for helping out with facilities and grounds keeping at the school.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate a school bus along designated routes.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all students during transportation.
  • Maintain a clean and mechanically sound bus.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and school transportation policies.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Report any incidents or concerns to the school administration promptly.


Qualifications:

  • Valid Maryland Driver's License for automobiles. CDL not required.
  • Clean driving record with no recent accidents or violations.
  • Previous experience as a school bus driver is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage student behavior in a respectful and effective manner.
  • Must pass a background check.
