Bilingual reporter:

We have an outstanding opportunity for a freelance Bilingual Reporter. This is a full-time 1099 position that is being offered as a 12-month contract.


The ideal candidate will be bilingual (Spanish & English) with strong reporting and storytelling skills and experience in AP style writing. Multimedia reporting across various platforms is a plus, which includes audio and video.

  • Proficient at identifying and executing engaging community-oriented content, including receiving assignments or evaluating news leads and news tips to develop story ideas

  • Must gather and verify factual information for stories through interview, observation and research

  • Must be detail oriented and dedicated to accuracy according to prescribed editorial style and ethical standards

  • Computer literacy required, including computer systems for digital publishing

  • Still photography a must to illustrate stories

  • Work cooperatively with editor and photographer if assigned to story

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment

  • Strong communication skills needed


Once again, this is a 12 month contracted role.
