We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong focus on inventory management to join our team.


Position Summary: The Senior Accountant (Inventory Focus) will be responsible for managing all accounting functions related to inventory. This role involves ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, inventory reconciliation, cost accounting, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of inventory accounting, including inventory valuation, cost of goods sold (COGS), and inventory reconciliations.
  • Develop and implement inventory accounting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Monitor and analyze inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, adjustments, and sales.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and cycle counts, and reconcile variances.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements related to inventory.
  • Collaborate with the procurement, production, and sales departments to ensure accurate inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Provide detailed analysis and reports on inventory levels, turnover rates, and other key metrics to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements related to inventory accounting.
  • Assist in the preparation and coordination of internal and external audits.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in inventory management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on inventory management.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
