Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Worker (DCW) to join our team. The DCW will provide essential care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a home health setting. This role involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting their independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Provide support with mobility and physical activities.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed schedules.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive proper nutrition.
  • Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments and community activities.
  • Monitor and document clients' health and behavior changes.
  • Follow individualized care plans and report any concerns to the supervisor.
  • Foster a positive and supportive environment that encourages clients' independence.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Ability to lift and assist clients with mobility.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help others.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
