About the Role:

The Intake Worker is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated and results-oriented individual committed to social justice with a drive to incite meaningful change. Intake worker will be the primary contact person in the solicitation of customers for the participation into the weatherization assistance program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Will have the first orientation session with homeowners and tenants to educate them about the Weatherization Program (Energy Conservation Measures to be implemented in their homes/buildings) together with Intake/Administrative Specialist
  • Responsible to make sure all tenants weatherization documents are the correct/legal documents to make according to the Homes and Community Renewal – Energy & Rehabilitation Services Bureau (HCR-ERSB) policy and procedures manual.
  • Assist to educate the homeowners and tenants on the importance of the Building Energy Efficiency.
  • Will assist to make home and pre-inspection visits for small & multi-family buildings in order to educate and have tenants sign and present proper proof of income documentation for eligibility purposes.
  • Assist in the handling of all aspects of clients’ outreach/marketing (face to face and telephone).
  • Conduct evening and/or weekend meetings with homeowners, landlords and tenants whenever necessary to obtain information from tenants not home during weekdays.
  • Assist in any office or field duties as directed by the Weatherization Director to assist in the completion of the Weatherization Contract.
  • Attend training as designated the Weatherization Director
  • Maintain a pipeline list and update monthly for monthly submission to the Administrative/Intake Specialist & Director.
  • Work on special assignments whenever necessary (Director- Administrative/Intake Specialist).
  • Assist with the duties regarding the EMPOWER Program for 1-4 Units & Multi-family buildings.
  • Assist with the duties regarding the CON EDISON Program for 1-4 Units & Multi-family buildings
  • Assist with the duties regarding the NATIONAL GRID Program for Multi-family and 1-4 Units Buildings.
  • Assist the Production Coordinator & Program Coordinator with any and all her duties whenever necessary.
  • Conduct evening and/or weekend meetings with homeowners, landlords and tenants whenever necessary to obtain information from tenants not home during weekdays.
  • Perform other assigned job-related duties to help fulfill our Mission and drive our Vision.

What you bring to the role:

  • At least two years of college education
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Must be efficient with Microsoft Windows and Excel
  • Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License
  • Must have the ability to communicate with co-workers and clients.
  • Must have the tolerance to relate to all types of dwelling units, but not to exceed your own health and safety.
