Felix Construction Company is seeking a Project Assistant is to ensure the accessibility and traceability of job materials in the Electrical Department and to support electrical project managers.  Typically requires familiarity of electrical components/material and administrative experience. This role provides the potential for a path to Electrical Project Engineer. Our projects vary in size and scope and are located throughout the Phoenix metropolitan area ($250k - $50M). The ideal candidate can communicate and work well with all levels of personnel and has strong math and analytical skills. 

 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: 

  • Assist in maintaining warehouse cleanliness and organization for optimal efficiency
  • Receive and inspect electrical deliveries for quality and accuracy. Log verified materials into a computer system
  • Tag and stage all electrical deliveries appropriately for easy identification.
  • Scan and electronically file paperwork (such as packing slips and purchase orders) to ensure accurate recordkeeping
  • Manage material system and ensure accuracy for team utilization
  • Deliver materials to job sites and maintain a professional demeanor when representing the company within the office premises and in external settings
  • Utilize company forklift to move deliveries and materials safely
  • Assist the Project Manager with job site visits to take progress pictures, notes, site meetings, and other assigned tasks
  • Assist the Project Manager with administrative duties such as general digital document organization within a project folder, tracking material and associated submittals, and O&M manuals
  • Assist Project Manager with data entry and tracking of RFI’s, PO’s, and MOPO’s
  • Assist the Project Manager by obtaining dimensions and layout of existing job sites to create Electrical Work Packages in ACAD
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols
  • Work independently and manage time appropriately to meet organizational goals
  • May spend downtime assisting in Panel Shop and Mechanic Shop
  • Other duties as assigned

WHO ARE YOU:

  • High school diploma required, some college or trade schools preferred
  • A valid driver’s license with a good driving record is required; previous forklift experience is preferred
  • Familiarity with electrical components such as conduit, fittings, and hardware
  • Basic computer skills required (email, data entry and file management)
  • Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and Adobe/Bluebeam strongly preferred
  • Must be willing to attend training courses for unfamiliar, new, and/or proprietary software applications
  • English is required; Spanish speaking skills are preferred 
  • Committed to learning and actively seek out feedback
  • Take ownership of your actions and decisions
  • Have a can-do attitude even in challenging situations
  • Dedicated to prioritizing the team's success over your own success


Successful candidates will be able to:


  • Manage and Stage all Electrical Receivables and Deliverables
  • Assist Electrical Project Managers with day-to-day tasks as requested
  • Work independently and manage time appropriately

A clean background is required for this position. All candidates must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, as part of the badging process for entry to municipal work sites.

Office, warehouse, and outdoor settings
