Supervises and coordinates activities of hourly employees engaged in operating variety of machines to manufacture parts or products by performing the following duties

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Analyzes work orders to estimate worker hours and create machining schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Knowledge of specifications regarding product quality.
  • Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
  • Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Work with proper resources in adjusting machines and equipment to repair products which fail to meet standards.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product for continuous improvement.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of plant, department, or employees.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists employees in solving work problems.
  • Administers safety rules and policies to ensure the organization and all employees comply.
  • Maintains time and production records. Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Responsible for the development of employees through training, coaching and performance evaluations.
  • Understands, implements and maintains all aspects of 6S.
  • Supervisors/Managers are responsible for the leadership, direction and performance of their employees/shift during regular and overtime hours.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in business management, engineering or related field preferred.
  • Manufacturing supervision experience of a minimum of 5 years.
  • Prior mechanical power press experience is a plus..
  • Lean Manufacturing principal knowledge is preferred.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving process.
  • Production scheduling experience
  • Inventory auditing experience
  • Ability to read and interpret blue prints
  • Demonstrated production improvement projects
  • Knowledge of manufacturing safety regulations
  • Working knowledge of MS Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)
