8-5 pm, Monday through Friday, occasional travel, and after hours.

Summary/Objective of Position:

Dine College's Provost is responsible for leading, managing, and continuously improving academic instruction, programs, services, faculty development, and operations. The Provost provides direction in pursuing the College's mission and goals, emphasizing leadership, integrity, quality, planning, compliance, workforce development, community relations, and nation-building in the Navajo Nation.

Serves as a member of the College's executive team.

Is responsible for the overall academic administration of the College, including planning, fiscal management, resource and policy development, assessment, and accreditation compliance.

Supervises the academic dean, community campus directors, registrar, athletics director, library director, dual credit coordinator, and recruitment coordinator. Represents the College regarding academic matters.

Represents the College regarding academic matters.

Develops agreements with other educational institutions and develops policies and procedures for transferring academic credit.

Assists in developing retention and student success models based on research and data analysis and in partnership with other College-internal and external entities.

Collaborates with all non-academic areas of the College to advance the College's mission.

Performs other duties assigned by the President.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience


Minimum:

•Master's Degree in a relevant field.

Preferred:

Doctoral Degree in policy, public administration, education, economics, government, political science, or related field.

Knowledge:

Minimum requirements: six years of experience in academic administration in higher education including administrative or supervisory duties concerned with curriculum and program planning, development, and assessment; fiscal, personnel, and operational management; and strategic planning.

Oral fluency in Navajo is highly desirable but not mandatory.

Skills:

Demonstrated academic leadership and administrative experience.

Strong communication, organizational, and management skills.

As an executive, contribute to institutional strategic and academic planning, implementation, and evaluation on a regular basis.

Maintains institutional academic integrity and accountability to support accreditation, articulation, credentials, and eligibility for instructional funding and recruitment and retention of highly qualified faculty.

Responsible for the continuous effort of the assessment of academic programs at the course and program level. Expected to develop a comprehensive academic plan and structures for academic program review.

Abilities:

Ability to identify, resolve, and consult on a wide range of administrative and personnel issues while focusing on institutional needs and priorities.

Ability to work well in a team environment.

Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely both orally and in writing.

Ability to evaluate and analyze program effectiveness and resource utilization.

Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in the performance of duties.

Strong project management skills, including the ability to multi-task, define priorities, and measure and evaluate progress and outcomes.

Physical Requirements, Work Environment & Travel:

Work is typically performed in a typical interior/office environment: including but not limited to the use of a personal computer, entering and retrieving data: use of a printer; copier (copy, email, fax, scanning); filing documents and information; ability to attend and participate in meetings and training; ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to internal and external customers via multimedia (email, fax, phone, letter, etc.); moderate physical activity; and minimal exposure to physical risk but may require some extended periods of sitting, standing or walking.

Other Requirement(s):

Proficient in using technology, especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other graphic presentation software. Preferences. Must have and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license and pass a background check. Other licensing may be required depending on position and area of assignment.
