Basic Purpose

The Sustainability Coordinator, ideally with experience in the data center, technology or construction industry, takes the lead on several key strategic projects that span multiple markets. The Sustainability Coordinator interprets changes in the external sustainability environment and works out the strategic opportunities and consequences for our company, our products, and our customers. Understanding building regulations and policy changes is key in this role, as well as educating and informing our commercial, technical, compliance and marketing teams on their impacts. The Sustainability Coordinator must be agile in the way they work, flexible to change and have a strong balance of technical and social skills to ensure work effectiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Develops the sustainability strategy for Tate USA with the support of the existing Planet Passionate manufacturing lead, Planet Passionate reporting lead, compliance lead, technical lead and business unit leads.
  • Leads the company in driving the environmental / sustainability agenda with specific goals around ensuring the business has these issues as the highest priority.
  • Works closely with senior management in understanding our product range and identifying opportunities to improve environmental performance.
  • Has extensive understanding of government policy, construction industry certifications, LCA’s, EPD’s, HPD’s, Embodied Carbon reports, and distils and translates what’s important and relevant to various stakeholders.
  • Conducts and reports on comparative product evaluations with competitive products and other alternative construction methodologies.
  • Evaluates current accreditations and certificates and qualifies any additional certifications, and awards we should strive to achieve.
  • Advances our sustainable building raw materials by steering and coordinating our next level lower embodied carbon solutions, leaning on our technical, commercial and compliance teams for support.
  • Drives and leads the Sustainability related communications program for internal and external stakeholders while coordinating with the marketing team, to inform content relative for internal teams and external customers.
  • Develops our circularity messaging based on tangible proof points relative to the various business units.
  • Leads the division in educating and communicating with commercial property developers, architects, general contractors, large commercial facility owners and large data center end user clients on our sustainability strategy and journey to environmental product performance improvement.
  • Ensures full environmental claims product compliance and alignment to the Kingspan Marketing Integrity Manual.
  • Maintains awareness of individual contribution to and impact of the quality, safety, environmental, and product compliance policies and activities; reports all quality issues, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions to the proper personnel.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a business development/specification or manufacturing sustainability role in the B2B building/construction sector.
  • Experience engaging with the architectural community and achieving excellent client satisfaction.
  • Evidence of delivering against annual targets year on year.
  • Ability to understand and dissect technical product information.
  • Experience managing and developing client relationships.
  • A sound understanding of the Architect / Construction marketplace.
  • A thorough understanding of presenting technical sustainability information and adapting it to the audience.
  • An articulate individual with good communication skills both verbal and written who can relate to people at all levels of an organization with a high level of confidence and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent influencing skills to manage key decision makers within organizations.
  • Proven experience of developing large commercial construction projects.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to plan effectively.
  • A self-starter with the ability to set own objectives and work effectively under pressure.
  • Familiarity with using One Click LCA or similar programs.
  • Highly confident with using Microsoft Office and Sales Force CRM software.
  • Ability to produce and deliver high impact customer presentations.
  • BA/BS degree Sustainability/Marketing or relevant qualification within the building engineering/architecture environment is desirable.
  • An understanding of the operational process involved in manufacturing and delivering products.
