Position Summary:

Looking for a job where you can gain hands-on experience working with kids. Work in CRA’s mid-day supervision program. We are looking for enthusiastic adaptable individuals with a passion for working with school age children (K-8th grade) in an engaging setting. This role is a great opportunity to jumpstart your career Through meaningful playground and lunch supervision, you will enable students to safely enjoy group interaction and play. 


Education/Training/Required Certification:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • At least 1-year experience working with school-aged children.

OR

  • 12 College Units of Child Development, Education, Recreation, Physical Education, or Human Services preferred.
  • Must pass fingerprint clearance, TB test, pre-employment physical, and provide immunization record of measles and pertussis vaccines.
  • Must complete CPR, First Aid, Mandated Reporter, and Pest Management training upon hired.
  • COVID-19 Vaccine Required. 


Essential Functions:

  1. Supervise children to ensure a safe and harmonious environment during the after school day and school playtimes. 
  2. Ensure children follow playground safety rules and expectations and apply school site discipline policies.
  3. Help to guide pupils in developing good habits of sportsmanship, respect, inclusion, healthy play, and community.
  4. Implement positive behavior strategies and group management with respect for children and assist students in resolving minor conflicts on the playground.
  5. Report observations and incidents (e.g. discipline, accidents, inappropriate social behavior, etc.) to the Program Director.
  6. Participate in cleaning and maintaining the facilities and equipment.
  7. Inspect the school site and the equipment for potential safety hazards; taking corrective action to prevent injuries.
  8. Interact professionally and appropriately with children, parents, teachers, school staff, community members, and co-workers.
  9. Assist in maintaining student records of injuries, and behavioral incidents.
  10. Comply with all Health, Safety, and CA Community Care Licensing guidelines and requirements.
  11. Perform related tasks as required.

  6. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Part-Time - 20-25 hours a week for CRA Recess Supervision Program: (9:00am-2:00pm: M/T/Th/F) & (9:00am-11:15am: W)

School Year Round Program: August 2023 - June 2024
