Under the direction of a mentor drafter, the successful intern will provide drafting support for Ideal Aerosmith’s products and testing solutions. Transform initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working drawings. Review engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

Job Responsibilities
  • With mentor drafters, become familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Draft detailed drawings and specification of electro-mechanical devices, indicating dimensions and tolerances, fasteners and joining requirements, and other engineering data according to engineering sketches and design proposals.
  • Reviews and analyzes specifications, sketches, engineering drawings, ideas, and related design data to determine factors affecting component designs.
  • Positions instructions and comments onto drawings and illustrates and describes installation and maintenance details.
  • Modifies and revises designs to correct operating deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  • Lays out, draws, and reproduces illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications to describe operation and maintenance of mechanical systems.
  • Participate and lead within the guidelines of the Entrepreneurial Operation System
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and other regulatory standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification Requirements

  • Must have completed 1 year of an Engineering Technology (AS)
  • This position requires the employee to work in a restricted facility that requires US citizenship or Permanent Residence (Green Card).

  • Organizational skills and attention to detail required.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
Physical Requirements
  • Must have the ability to lift and/or carry 45 lbs.
  • Ability to work for extended periods at computer workstation.
  • The position will require walking, standing, squatting, crouching, stooping, lifting, climbing, pulling, pushing, sitting, repetitive motion, and kneeling.
