Metairie, United States Eustis Engineering Full time
Job DescriptionJob Description

Eustis Engineering would not be the company it is today without our drill crews. For 78 years, these three or four-men crews have led the way to soil exploration in more environments than we can imagine. We are always looking for those individuals who want to be a part of these crews.

We are currently looking for wrenchmen/helpers for the Metairie drill crews. Unless you have worked for a geotechnical engineering firm previously, this is a great place to start with no previous experience necessary.

REQUIREMENTS

Take orders wells, present a neat appearance, be reliable, enjoy working outdoors, be in good physical condition, attend various training courses, have a valid driver's license, and be able to pass regular drug and alcohol testing.

WRENCHMAN'S RESPONSIBILITIES

A wrenchman assists the driller in performing duties common to subsurface exploration. This includes manual tasks relative to the transport, erection, and maintenance of drilling equipment and materials. The wrenchman, under the supervision of the driller, may operate the drilling equipment; regulate drill speed; adjust water flow; and change bits, pipe sections, and samplers. As required and authorized, the wrenchman drives vehicles including the towing of small trailers.

A wrenchman assists in the clearing of brush and undergrowth so the drill rig can set up on site. He/she loads and unloads machinery and equipment, and lifts and transports gear and material to the drill site. He/she assists in setting up or disassembling portable drill rigs by handling and carrying requested and/or required tools and parts, and by assembling or removing components and items of auxiliary equipment. The wrenchman performs normal preventative maintenance and assists in making emergency repairs to equipment in the field. He/she washes and cleans the trucks and rill rigs as well as stores tools and supplies for future use.
