Job Summary
We are seeking a Volunteer Coordinator to join our team As a Volunteer Coordinator, you will be interviewing new volunteers, calling references or otherwise screening potential new volunteers, and providing assignments based on their strengths and interests. You will also be conducting day one orientation for new volunteers, implementing new programs for volunteers within the organization, and handling all scheduling and documentation. The ideal candidate has experience interviewing or screening new team members, excellent judgement, and the ability to multitask and shift focus, as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Interview and screen new potential volunteers, using best hiring practices and your best judgement
  • Choose assignments based on the individuals strengths and interests
  • Conduct day one orientation and answer all questions involving our organization, goals, and their purpose within it
  • Schedule all volunteers to ensure adequate coverage
  • Maintain excellent records of volunteers and activities, as well as effectiveness

Qualifications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work well independently and within a team environment
  • Strong organization skills
  • Strong familiarity with basic computer programs, including the Microsoft Office suite and the Adobe suite
