EFCO is seeking a Manufacturing Language Translation Specialist that will play a critical role in ensuring effective communication and collaboration within a manufacturing environment that operates in multiple languages.

Duties:

  • Translation of Technical Documents: Translate technical documents, including but not limited to manuals, specifications, safety guidelines, operating procedures, and quality control documents, from the source language(s) to the target language(s) accurately and efficiently.
  • Interpretation Support: Provide interpretation support during meetings, discussions, training sessions, and other interactions where language barriers exist, facilitating clear communication between team members, management, and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, consistency, and quality of translated materials by conducting thorough reviews, proofreading, and editing to maintain linguistic integrity and adherence to industry-specific terminology and standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Facilitate continuous improvement efforts by communicating effectively with stakeholders, addressing concerns, and overcoming resistance to change. Champion a positive and collaborative approach to driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, technicians, quality assurance professionals, and project managers, to understand specific requirements, address translation challenges, and deliver timely and effective language solutions.
  • Terminology Management: Develop and maintain a comprehensive glossary of manufacturing-related terms and phrases in multiple languages to ensure consistency and accuracy across translations and minimize ambiguity or misunderstanding.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and awareness to accurately convey the intended meaning and context of messages, considering cultural nuances, customs, and preferences of target audiences.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies related to translation, confidentiality, data security, and intellectual property rights.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in technical translation within the manufacturing sector, preferably with knowledge of specialized terminology in areas such as engineering, production, quality control, and supply chain management. Proficiency in multiple languages, with exceptional writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills in both the source and target languages. Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to maintain accuracy and consistency in translations. Proficiency in translation software tools, CAT (Computer-Assisted Translation) tools, and terminology management systems. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and cross-cultural skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders. Adaptability, flexibility, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Certification or accreditation in translation and interpretation (e.g., ATA certification) is preferred. Knowledge of industry-specific regulations, standards (e.g., ISO), and quality management systems is a plus.
