Data Analyst (ST&I)

Location: Miami, FL

Overview: The Data Analyst (science, technology and innovation/ST&I) leverages data to support strategic analysis, technology assessment, partnership cultivation, and operational support. This role involves analyzing various data sets to evaluate strategies and technologies, ensuring strategic development and compliance with evolving Federal and DoD security standards. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 10 years of experience, a BA/BS or MA/MS degree, and the ability to perform all functional duties independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis and Evaluation:
    • Analyze various data sets to evaluate strategies and technologies.
    • Inform strategic development and ensure compliance with evolving Federal and DoD security standards.
  • Trend Identification and Insight Generation:
    • Identify trends and insights from emerging and disruptive technologies.
    • Attend relevant military and IT conferences to stay updated on technology advancements.
  • Partnership Cultivation:
    • Utilize data to foster partnerships with government entities, industry, and academia.
    • Help position USSOUTHCOM as a leader in capability development.
  • Operational Support:
    • Provide data-driven operational knowledge and recommendations.
    • Contribute to white papers and concept proposals.
    • Facilitate the integration of new technologies into joint exercises.

Requirements:

  • Experience and Education:
    • 3 to 10 years of relevant experience in data analysis, technology assessment, or a related field.
    • BA/BS or MA/MS degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering).
  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proven ability to perform all functional duties independently.
    • Strong analytical skills and experience with data evaluation.
    • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills.
    • Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working with DoD or other Federal agencies.
  • Knowledge of emerging and disruptive technologies.
  • Familiarity with Federal and DoD security standards.
