Worship Director Job-Description

General Overview

Abundant Life Church is seeking a full-time creative and experienced Worship Director to enhance the weekend service experience. In collaboration with the Senior Pastor(s) and Director of Weekend Services, this person will support Senior Leadership and Directors in maintaining an organized ministry environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, vision, and passion for Abundant Life Church in the areas of music and worship ministries that is in line with the overall vision, purpose, and mission of our church.
  • Must be proficient in team building, volunteer recruitment, and leadership over teams comprised of both staff and volunteers
  • Proficient in leading worship with a strong vocal and instrumental ability accompanied by an authentic stage presence.
  • Facilitate weekend worship services including, but not limited to:
    • Leading weekend worship services vocally and musically
    • Assist in developing current and future worship teams
    • Scheduling instrumentalists and vocalists for multiple locations
    • Lead weekly campus rehearsals
    • Consult with the Senior Pastor(s) to coordinate worship theme
    • Design and build tracks for weekend services in Ableton
    • Collaborate with Technical and Media Directors for service planning
  • This position reports directly to Director of Weekend Services and Director of Ministries

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years ministry experience in an church of at least 2,000 attendees
  • Must be musically proficient (have an understanding of basic music theory) and be able to lead vocally
  • Have the ability to coach and lead a band
  • Be proficient in the following tools: Planning Center, ProPresenter, Ableton
  • Knowledge of digital audio systems and software preferred
