The Warehouse Associate is responsible for overseeing the safe receipt, storage, retrieval and timely distribution of goods. They ensure that workplace health and safety requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and inventory. They plan the arrangement of goods within the warehouse and organize special requirements for certain inventory, such as mobile events or fragile products. They ensure that productivity targets are met and work with the Operations Manager and MATTER 360 team to fulfill delivery obligations and update inventories. They are also responsible for driving the organization's box truck to pick up donated items and manage janitorial duties around the MATTER office.



JOB DUTIES:


  • Maintain receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations in coordination with the Operations Manager and MATTER 360 operations team
  • Manually or mechanically load and unload materials from pallets, skids, platforms, cars, lifting devices or other transport vehicles
  • Load containers of medical equipment and supplies for international shipment
  • Pick up donated inventory of medical equipment and supplies from hospitals and other partners using MATTER’s 26-foot box truck or van
  • Deliver MATTER healthy food boxes to partner organizations serving those in need 
  • Assist with operations aspects of on-site and mobile event coordination for volunteers packing MATTERboxes, and ensure proper set up and take down of equipment and supplies
  • Assist with inventory reconciliation by conducting physical counts
  • Submit all inventories, dock receipts, trucking and shipping documents and other documents on a timely basis to the appropriate department
  • Maintain and coordinate the electronic dispatch calendar in partnership with other team members
  • Drive box truck, forklift and other equipment as necessary to complete tasks
  • Manage weekly janitorial duties, including floor, window, and bathroom cleaning and upkeep, and restocking of supplies
  • Maintain and repair, if necessary, minor items to maximize the operation of the warehouse
  • Daily inspection of trucks and other equipment, as required by state and federal regulations
  • Follow the policies and procedures as outlined by the organization in the Employee & Safety Handbooks
  • Promote a positive team attitude with employees, volunteers, donors, and community partners
  • Check MATTER e-mail account daily and respond in a timely manner
  • Attend biweekly staff meetings
  • Ensure safety at all times
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing other duties as needed




Knowledge & Skills Requirements:


  • Degree or equivalent work experience in a warehouse
  • General knowledge of inventory practices
  • Proficiency in English is required; Spanish-speaking skills are preferred
  • Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license without serious and/or recent offenses
  • Truck driving experience preferred (MNDOT Class B rating not required)
  • Experience with and ability to drive a 26 ft. box truck
  • Medical Examiner Certificate required (MATTER can facilitate)
  • Forklift experience (certification a plus)
  • Ability  to  establish  and  maintain  good  working  relationships  with  team members
  • Action-oriented individual who can recognize problems and solve them quickly
  • Ability to multi-task and work on a variety of projects
  • Initiative and independence to see the job through to completion with little supervision or assistance
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Ability and high comfort-level working in a fast-paced environment
  • Customer service experience desired as the person in this position will be interfacing with MATTER's constituents
  • Must be willing and able to complete some paperwork on a regular basis (truck logs, weekly reporting, other documentation)
  • Must possess basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


  • MUST be able to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis and up to 100 lbs.
  • Some standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling are required to perform the essential functions of this job



ADDITIONAL INFO:

 

  • This is a full-time, hourly position with benefits - including paid time off, paid holidays, health reimbursement arrangement (QSEHRA), and 401K retirement plan
  • Compensation is $22 - $24 per hour based on experience level
  • Work is performed on-site in St. Louis Park - this position does not allow for remote work
  • Work is generally performed Monday through Friday between 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
  • Job offers are contingent upon the successful completion of a background screening and drug test
