Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Peritoneal Dialysis Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in renal care, with a focus on peritoneal dialysis. As a PD RN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality care to patients with end-stage renal disease who are undergoing peritoneal dialysis treatment. You will play a key role in educating and supporting patients, as well as collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Perform assessments of patients before, during, and after peritoneal dialysis treatment.
  • Set up and maintain peritoneal dialysis equipment.
  • Educate patients and their families on the peritoneal dialysis process, including home-based peritoneal dialysis if applicable.
  • Monitor and adjust dialysis parameters as necessary.
  • Administer medications and manage complications related to peritoneal dialysis.
  • Document patient data accurately and maintain detailed records.
  • Collaborate with nephrologists, social workers, dietitians, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients throughout their peritoneal dialysis journey.

Qualifications:


  • Current RN licensure in the state of Michigan
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient education skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Experience in peritoneal dialysis or renal care is a significant advantage.
