THE COMPANY

Longhorn Precision (LHP) was founded in 2021 with a primary focus on producing components and accessories for the firearms industry, including premier firearms manufacturer Staccato 2011, which produces a line of pistols designed for home defense, conceal carry, and is approved by over 900 law enforcement agencies nationwide. LHP is building a world-class research & development team to include the Design, Manufacturing, Testing, and Commercialization of top-quality components and accessories that complement its high-quality customer base. Headquartered in Florence, Texas, adjacent to Staccato 2011 at a brand-new facility, LHP will focus its efforts on sheet metal fabrication, CNC machining & turning, and plastic injection molding. Longhorn Precision will leverage its team of extraordinary people as the competitive advantage to deliver the best in American ingenuity and manufacturing.

THE POSITION

We are seeking a Machine Operator to join our hard-charging and fast-growing team. This role is based in Florence, Texas, and work hours are 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. Our operation strategy has been heavily influenced by “People First” aspects; this allows us to celebrate an above-industry average retention rate.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verifies settings by measuring positions, and first-run parts, while adhering to all specifications.

• Maintains specifications by taking measurements, troubleshooting, and replacing worn tooling while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

• Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements.

• Ensure that work areas are cleaned daily and that all work is accomplished well within all safety parameters.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school or GED diploma required.

• Certification or degree from an accredited institution related to manufacturing is a plus.

• Previous experience in a machine shop is a plus.

• Must be able to pay attention to detail and have good judgment.

• Familiarity with CNC milling and turning machines and associated cutting tools and techniques.

• Good verbal communication skills.

• Basic computer skills and an aptitude for working within specific tolerances.

• Basic knowledge of machining and ability to grasp technical concepts.

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
