Join our Engineering team as a Drafter CAD Operator, where you will play a pivotal role in transitioning prototypes into actual production models. Utilize your expertise in CAD to create both 2D and 3D models for castings, plastic products, and tooling designs. This is a critical role aimed at enhancing our production capabilities and improving our product offerings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop precise 2D and 3D design drawings using CAD software such as AutoCAD, Fusion360, or SolidWorks.
  • Ensure designs meet the interdependencies of part and tool design, with a strong understanding of manufacturing drawings.
  • Create detailed layouts to depict functional relationships of components and systems.
  • Generate illustrations for reference manuals and technical publications.
  • Engage with the engineering team and pattern supervisors to develop tool drawings, including foundry patterns, Blow Molds, and Injection Molds.
  • Conduct 3D scanning for reverse engineering and support the Sr. Design Engineer from the design phase through to production.
  • Operate and maintain SLA 3D printers for tooling and prototype product printing.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering or a related field, or completion of a comprehensive CAD certificate program.
  • Minimum of 5 years in manufacturing/tooling design, with specific experience in foundry tooling highly preferred.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in 3D scanning and 3D printing is essential.
  • Experience with Blow mold and injection mold design is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with FEA and Casting Process Simulation software is a plus.
