About the Opportunity:

As the Meeting & Event Sales Manager, you will work in tandem with the team and Community Director in bringing life to Kiln Phoenix and Gilbert by inviting businesses and entrepreneurs to utilize our beautiful site for gatherings and events. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for all meetings and events and spearhead sales and negotiations with creativity and strategy - driving revenue for the property.

As Events Sales Manager You Will:

  • Solicit, negotiate and generate contracted revenues from volume prospects that meet targets established in the Kiln meeting and event quarterly revenue goals
  • Accurately prepare and present proposals that provide high value for both clients and Kiln. 
  • Prospect for new contract business using a wide variety of methods including phone calls, outside sales, attending community functions, internet prospecting, supplier partnerships, trade journals, etc.
  • Negotiate and close contracts that meet Kiln’s business plan objective. Desired arrival, departure and volume patterns must be met to align with operational requirements.
  • Manage and coordinates catering and event service activities and client specifications to deliver smooth execution of executive meetings and events requiring space, food and beverage services. 
  • Manage meetings and event scheduling to promote high volume, including coordinating staffing and support for larger meetings and events.
  • Provide accurate meeting and event revenue and expense forecasts according to established guidelines. Presents monthly progress reports to the leadership team. 
  • Manage and distribute function and event changes to onsite stakeholders during function execution. 
  • May be called on to host functions and participate in, or conduct sales blitzes, travel and work extended hours to achieve departmental goals
  • All other duties as assigned or needed.


Ideal Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major highly preferred
  • A minimum of 3 years of sales and/or hospitality experience preferred
  • Must have strong networking skills and able to think creatively and self-start
  • Must possess a valid drivers license and reliable transportation to drive to appointments
  • Must have experience with lead generation through outbound efforts
  • Demonstrates integrity, dependability, responsibility, accountability, self-awareness, work ethic, follow through and empathy
  • Passion for entrepreneurial communities
